Gabon celebrates!

Gabon celebrated in style last week, marking the annual Labour Day and the inauguration of newly elected President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.

On Thursday 1 May, Genmin Limited's in country team & local workforce at its wholly owned Gabonese subsidiary REMINAC, joined in the fête du Travail celebrations in Libreville & Franceville.

On Saturday 3 May, huge crowds & 16 African heads of state gathered in Libreville to attend the inauguration of Mr Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who was sworn in as the fourth President of the Republic of hashtag#Gabon.

Addressing the Gabonese people, President Oligui Nguema promised a different Gabon through diversification of the economy away from oil dependence, encouragement of foreign investment, and development of its abundant raw materials.

Genmin's Baniaka iron ore project is expected to be Gabon's first commercial iron ore mine and a key driver in the development of its mining industry.
