Pilot scale met test work on #ironore samples from our Baniaka project is nearly complete. Bond Equipment, an independent, specialist mineral processing & engineering firm based in South Africa is conducting the program, testing 13 detrital iron deposits (DID) & Oxide bulk samples, (combined weight of 21 tonnes), collected from within the resource envelope at Baniaka.

Pilot scale washing, screening & dense media separation is designed to validate earlier, smaller scale laboratory test work of using a simple, low-risk flow sheet in full scale operations. The aim is to develop engineering level process design criteria, confirm product yields & grade/quality and provide large product samples (approximately 700kg) for value-in-use test work in #China.

#Gabon's high rainfall all year round means wet materials handling as opposed to dry materials handling in areas like the Pilbara where rainfall is low. The video shows washing & screening of a DID sample from the Bandjougoy prospect, which hosts approximately 30% of the 64Mt DID Mineral Resource. The tubular revolving scrubber mixes DID feed with water & discharges it onto the wet screen to recover a clean iron ore product.
